Dating is human. Your profile should be too.

AI can write a dating profile in seconds. We think finding the right words deserves a little more thought.

We all know that dating apps have changed. AI has changed how we write. And yes, you can now ask ChatGPT to knock up a dating profile before you’ve even finished your coffee.

But there’s a problem.

A dating profile isn’t supposed to sound perfect. It’s supposed to sound like you — and more importantly, make the right person want to get to know you.

That’s why Fix My Profile takes a human-first approach.

The easiest thing in the world is to sound like everyone else

Give an AI tool a few facts about yourself, and it’ll happily turn them into:

“I’m an adventurous, kind-hearted guy who loves travelling, good food and spending time with friends.”

Perfectly grammatical.

Completely forgettable.

The problem isn’t that AI can’t write. It can.

The problem is that good dating profiles aren’t really writing exercises.

They’re about knowing which details matter. Finding the stories hiding behind the facts. Understanding what makes someone interesting, likeable, funny, warm, confident or intriguing.

And sometimes, it’s about spotting the thing you don’t realise is interesting at all.

That’s where human experts (with 14 years of experience writing profiles) come in.

So… are we anti-AI?

Absolutely not.

AI is a brilliant tool. There’s nothing wrong with using it to brainstorm ideas, tidy up a sentence or help you get unstuck.

What we don’t think you should do is hand over the most personal piece of your dating life and say:

“Here are some facts about me. You write the rest.”

Because AI doesn’t know the story behind the facts.

It doesn’t know which apparently ordinary detail is the thing that makes you interesting.

It doesn’t know what your friends love about you.

And it doesn’t know what makes you attractive to the person you’re hoping to meet.

We do our best to find out and use our years of experience to show the real you.

What “human-first” actually means

Human-first isn’t just a nice phrase we’ve put on our shiny new website.

It’s how we’ve completely rethought our business and, importantly, the approach to your profile.

It’s about human judgement, real-world perspective and an objective eye — not simply getting an AI to make your answers sound better.

1. We look beyond the obvious

Your job, hobbies, height and favourite holiday destination are facts.

Whilst they matter, they’re not your personality.

We’ll look for the details, stories, quirks and opinions that give someone a reason to stop scrolling.

2. Objectivity is key

Fun fact: you’re not the most objective person to judge your own dating profile.

Sorry, but it’s true!

You know what you meant to say. You know the story behind the photo. You know that joke was supposed to be funny.

Your potential matches don’t have that context.

That’s why we look at your profile from the outside — honestly, constructively and without being afraid to tell you when something isn’t working.

3. Real eyes, real emotions

AI can analyse a photo.

We prefer real eyes.

Your photos are reviewed as part of the bigger picture, looking at things like your lead image, photo order, cropping, variety and the overall impression you’re giving.

And because attraction isn’t a one-size-fits-all equation, we can bring both male and female perspectives into the review.

Because sometimes you don’t need another algorithm.

4. We write for people, not algorithms

There isn’t a magic combination of buzzwords that guarantees a match.

We’re interested in making your profile feel natural, interesting and genuinely you — not stuffing it with dating-app clichés because some random person on YouTube says they’re “high-converting”.

5. We tell you when something isn’t working

Sometimes the best thing we can do is tell you that a photo isn’t helping.

Or that a joke doesn’t quite land.

Or that the thing you thought made you sound impressive actually makes you sound a little… well, boring.

You don’t need someone who agrees with everything you say.

You need someone who cares and wants your profile to work.

6. We get to know our clients

Your profile isn’t a CV.

It’s an invitation. A key to unlocking potential relationships.

Every word and every photo should make the person reading it think:

“I want to know more about this person.”

7. Your profile shouldn’t sound like it was written by a robot

There’s a strange irony to dating in the AI era.

We’ve never had more help writing things.

And we’ve never had more risk of everyone saying exactly the same things.

“Passionate about travel.”

“Love trying new restaurants.”

“Looking for someone who doesn’t take themselves too seriously.”

“Fluent in sarcasm.”

Sound familiar, right? Of course, you’ve seen it a million times already today.

There’s nothing wrong with any of those things.

The problem is that none of them tells me much about you.

A good dating profile doesn’t need to be wildly original.

It needs to be specific enough that it couldn’t belong to somebody else.

That’s the Fix My Profile difference

We’ve been helping people improve their dating profiles since 2012 (yes, we’re ‘internet old’)

The technology has changed dramatically since then, but the fundamental human aspect i.e. people, haven’t.

They still want to laugh with someone. Feel understood. Find chemistry. Meet somebody who makes them think, “I want to know more.”

Your profile is simply the bridge between the app and that first conversation.

We think that bridge should sound like a human being built it.

No toxic dating-coach persona BS.
No pickup tricks.
No pretending you’re somebody you’re not.

Just better representation of you.
